Social Justice:
I am a visual artist focused on drawing, painting and sculpture. As the daughter of two Palestinian Nakba refugees to Jordan, my goal is to create work that explores Injustices impacting my community and other communities. I tackle social and political topics in an attempt to initiate conversation relating to injustices happening around the world.
Art Education:
As an art educator I aim to create an environment where acquiring skill meets experimentation. My goal is to help students recognize their ability, and utilize it to create powerful, meaningful, and purposeful work. My classroom will follow through with plans for supporting students to develop both the technical and conceptual tools needed to communicate through drawing and painting. I strive to help students build the confidence in their craft, and develop observational skills necessary for expressing their creative self and navigating the world around them. Curiosity, experimentation, and critical thinking are encouraged, so students can critically use visual language to express ideas that matter to them.
